A Llantwit Fardre community councillor has pledged to tackle Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council over their inaction to clear an overgrown footpath. Coun Jonathan Bishop contacted the Observer after seeing first hand how the footpath had become overgrown with brambles and shoulder-high thistles. The public right-of-way, which extends from the Celyn Farm drive to Heol-y-Parc, had been popular with local people for many years, using it to walk their dogs, but is now impossible to walk through safely. Coun Bishop, of Heol-y-Parc, said: “The council have been contacted many times and still they have not done anything. “This council seems to be preoccupied with pushing self-praise literature through our doors, when what they should be doing is improving the quality of life of the people they represent”.
